Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this book and looking forward to reading more from this author.Īll of his life, Spencer Hightower dreamed of playing baseball in the Major Leagues. How he handles all the attention while playing on the big club. *grins* She was adorable and I really enjoyed how they wove these delightful children into the story.Īlthough the book was almost 170 pages, I wanted more about Spencer and Brock just to see him in the big leagues. Wow, almost made me want to have one of my very own. Then there are the supporting characters, especially Brock’s niece. Hell, are they interested in menages? *laughs* From the book I can tell they are not. JT’s descriptions of the characters made me wanna date em. It’s realistic, it’s not too fluffy and the sex scenes though kind of quick were very sensual. The style of writing, the characters who had valid concerns about jumping into a relationship, the way the author portrayed Brock as someone who actually hated baseball and Spencer who loved it but obviously fell in love with Brock, changing his priorities. And with good reason since the man is highly touted in baseball, with scouts attending the triple A Paw Sox games all the time to catch his act. He’s also open but apprehensive about getting into a relationship with Spencer because of his own insecurities and Spencer’s career. When the two of them meet, sparks fly and neither man can keep their eyes off one another. He’s a CPA, wanting a relationship and eventually kids. Then there’s the other man in the story, Brock Kincade.
Now as we know, there hasn’t been a player to come out while playing as of yet but I see that day coming just like when NBA player Jason Collins came out a couple of months ago. He’s comfortable with it doesn’t hide it even in the tense world of major league baseball. The great thing about Spencer other than his sexy smile, his smoldering looks, and his high batting average is he’s openly gay.
I’m a BIG fan, and unfortunately my team, the Chicago White Sox suck ass but I would be an even bigger fan if they had a player like Spencer Hightower.
